Meet Howie! 
Howie is a 6-year-old, 26-pound pup who’s full of energy, love, and personality. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, knows many commands, and absolutely loves walks, adventures, and beach time. Howie is also healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and on preventatives.

Howie is a loyal and protective companion who thrives under structure and consistency. He bonds strongly with his person and enjoys following them around the house, while also being independent enough to relax on his own. He’s smart, affectionate, and eager for adventure—whether that’s chasing squirrels in the yard, exploring trails, or running along the beach (he has excellent recall when called!).

Because Howie takes his role as “protector” very seriously, he needs a special home that understands his needs:

• No young children. Howie has a bite history when startled or overwhelmed, so a home with adults or older teens only is essential.

• Dog-savvy owner. Howie thrives with someone who understands boundaries and can provide calm, confident leadership. He’s had professional training and responds well when structure is maintained.

• Other pets? He may do best as the only dog, but with slow introductions and the right match (a calm, neutral-tempered dog), he may be able to share his space.

• Active lifestyle. Howie loves walks, beach days, and having a yard to patrol—he’ll be happiest with someone who enjoys keeping him active and engaged.

Howie has worked with experienced trainers who believe he is a good dog with insecurities that can be managed successfully in the right home. He needs an adopter who will commit to setting him up for success with routines, boundaries, and continued training support.

With the right person, Howie will be a deeply loyal companion who’s always ready for the next adventure by your side.
